1. Shadow (follow around) the owner of a small independent operation for a day. Prepare a diary of all duties and responsibilities performed by the owner. Generate a report detailing your discussion with the operator.
2. Conduct some research on genetically modified/altered foods. Write a three (3) page report discussing the current debate on this topic. Be sure to include both the benefits and negatives of using these controversial products in your hospitality operation.
3. Visit three fast food restaurants that do not serve Coca Cola products. Specifically ask for a “Coke.” Determine if the server merely serves you the non-Coke product (such as Pepsi) without mentioning that it is not Coke. If this happens, do you think that the operation has a responsibility to tell you it is not Coke? Why or why not? Generate a 1-2 page report detailing your experience.
